Spencer Kohler
VP of Marketing / Owner
Spencer began at Risk Finance in 2015, and has led the sales and marketing efforts since 2017. Since then, the company has grown from one of the smallest third party administrators in WA State to what it is today. Spencer has a passion for finding employers that are frustrated with L&I's decision making, and sharing strategies to take control of the claims process.
After work, Spencer loves to spend time with his wife and kids, volunteer at the their elementary school, and play guitar.
Mike Sotelo
VP of Safety
Mike Sotelo began at Risk Finance in 2017, and has led the safety and loss control department. He’s the Founder, organizer, and Board Member of Plaza Bank, Past Chair of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Former Chair of the Seattle Police Foundation, Board Member of Regence, and serves on the board of the Ethnic Community Chamber of Commerce. Mike was also a founder and former president of Approach Management Services, another WA State Third Party Administrator.
After work, Mike loves to golf, and working in his shop on rennovation projects.
Scott DeHem
VP of Claims
Scott began working at Risk Finance in 2017, and has led the claims department. Scott has over 16 year of experience managing L&I claims, with 5 of those years at Labor and Industries. Scott has a passion for educating and assisting employers on how to reduce their L&I cost.
After work, Scott coaches his son's soccer, and loves to relax with a good movie or book.
Wendy Scott
Office Manager
Wendy began working at Risk Finance in 2007, and has led the administrative department. With over 17 years managing the logistics of retro programs, Wendy is uniquely qualified to tackle the complex administration involved.
After work, Wendy loves to spend time with her husband and daughter. She also loves crafting, and restoring old furniture.
Monica Padgett
Claims Consultant
Monica began working at Risk Finance in 2021 as a claims consultant. Prior to Risk Finance, Monica was responsible for hiring and training over 150 claims managers at L&I. Monica's tenure at L&I lasted 12 years, during which time she developed an expert understanding of the claims process. Monica has taken a particular interest in helping employers in the assisted living industry.
After work, Monica spends time with her husband and four grandchildren. She also loves gardening and taking care of her chickens.
Amy Sutton
Claims Consultant
Amy began working at Risk Finance in 2019 as a claims consultant. Prior to Risk Finance, Amy worked at Labor and Industries, as well as various other WA TPA's. Amy has built her claims expertise with a focus on food processors and agricultural companies.
After work, Amy loves to spend time with her children and husband. She also loves getting lost in a good book.
Cammeron Robinson
Claims Consultant
Cammeron began working at Risk Finance in 2023 as a claims consultant. Prior to Risk Finance, Cammeron worked at Labor and Industries as an claims manager handling some of the their toughest claims. Prior to hiring Cammeron, Risk Finance claims reps assigned to Cammeron's claims were consistently impressed with her confidence, and work ethic.
After work, Cammeron loves to spend time with her daughter and husband. She also loves a good movie or book.
LIsa Riecke
Adminstrative Assistant
Lisa began working at Risk Finance in 2022. Lisa has made her area of focus the "Stay at work" program offered by L&I. Lisa has also build a unique skillset communicating with medical providers to speed up the claims process.
After work, Lisa, along with her son and husband are season ticket Seahawks fans. She also loves to cook, and host parties for her friends and family.
Katy Kohler (Ret.)
Board Member
Katy has served on the Risk Finance board for over 30 years. Her particular area of specialty is in finance and accounting. Throughout the decades, Katy has been instrumental in deciding the trajectory of the company.
After work, Katy enjoys being a grandma to 13 grandchildren, and studying philosophy.
Brent Kohler (Ret.)
Chairman of the Board
Brent began working at Risk Finance in 1984, and actively managed the company for 39 years. During this time, Risk Finance was an early adopter of L&I's retrospective rating program, and assisted in the formation of 12+ retro programs.
After work, Brent enjoys husky football, cooking, and yoga.
